Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kilnly does with your information. The short version: nothing leaves your device, because there is nowhere for it to go.

Effective date: 22 July 2026 · Last updated: 22 July 2026

01 Organization Information

Kilnly (“the app”) is published by [DEVELOPER_NAME], operating a Google Play organization (company) developer account. Questions about this policy or about the app's handling of information can be sent to [DEVELOPER_EMAIL].

02 Data Collection

Kilnly does not collect, transmit or receive any personal data. The app has no registration, no login, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifiers and no telemetry of any kind.

The information you enter — pieces, glaze recipes, firings, clay bodies, kilns, studio sessions, tags, notes, ratings and any sale prices you choose to record — is created by you and stored only in the app's private storage on your device.

03 Data Usage

Everything the app does with your information happens on the device. Charts, streaks, goal progress, achievements, the Today & Upcoming agenda, search results and the “what actually worked” ranking are all computed locally, in the app process, from the records you entered. None of it is uploaded or profiled.

04 Data Sharing

Kilnly does not share, sell, rent or disclose your data to anyone. There is no backend service, no partner, no data broker and no advertiser.

The only way data leaves the app is when you deliberately export it. Choosing Settings → Export writes a JSON or CSV file into the app's own documents folder and offers it to Android's share sheet. Where that file then goes is entirely your choice, and the app has no visibility into it.

05 Data Security

Records are held in a local Hive database inside the app's private, sandboxed storage, which other applications cannot read.

06 Data Retention

Your data is kept for exactly as long as you keep it. It remains on the device until you delete individual records, use Settings → Clear all data, clear the app's storage from Android settings, or uninstall Kilnly. Uninstalling removes all of it. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no copy anywhere else for us to retain or delete.

07 No User Accounts

Kilnly has no sign-up, no sign-in, no profile and no cloud sync. You are never asked for an email address, phone number, name or password, and the app never associates your data with an identity.

08 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Kilnly is a general-audience tool for potters and is not directed at children. It is not part of the Google Play “Designed for Families” programme. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 either, and there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request the deletion of beyond clearing or uninstalling the app.

09 User Rights

You retain complete control of your data at all times, without needing to contact anyone:

There is no request process because there is no server holding a copy of your information.

10 No Third-Party Services

Kilnly integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting, social, payment or cloud services. No third party receives any information from the app.

11 Permissions

android.permission.INTERNET — the only permission Kilnly requests.

It is used for exactly one purpose: loading this privacy policy page inside the app's Settings screen. No other screen in Kilnly makes a network request. The app asks for no camera, storage, location, contacts, microphone or notification permission.

12 Google Play Data Safety

The app's Data Safety declaration on Google Play states “No data collected” and “No data shared with third parties”. This remains accurate even with the insights, gamification, search and export features, because every one of them runs on-device and writes only to storage you choose.

13 Policy Dates

Effective date: 22 July 2026. Last updated: 22 July 2026. If this policy ever changes materially, the updated version will be published at this address with a new “last updated” date before the change takes effect.

14 Contact

For any privacy question, request or concern, contact [DEVELOPER_EMAIL]. Because no personal data is collected, most requests can be resolved entirely within the app.

15 Legal

Kilnly is operated by an organization developer account and is designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and Google Play's Developer Programme Policies, including the User Data and Data Safety requirements.

Under GDPR terminology, no processing of personal data takes place: the app neither transmits nor receives personal data, so no lawful basis, data-processing agreement or international transfer mechanism is required. Under CCPA/CPRA, Kilnly does not sell or share personal information.
